Abstract

M. K. Ali, S. E. Ahmed, G. H. Sayed, E. Y. Badran, A. M. Abbas. (2020), Effect of adjunctive vaginal progesterone after McDonald cerclage on the rate of second-trimester abortion in singleton pregnancy: a randomized controlled trial. International Journal of Gynecology & Obstetrics, 149: 370-376. https://doi.org/10.1002/ijgo.13148 The above article, published online on 04 April 2020 in Wiley Online Library (wileyonlinelibrary.com), has been retracted by agreement between the authors, the journal Editor-in-Chief, Professor Michael Geary, the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics, and John Wiley and Sons Ltd. Concerns were raised regarding the integrity of the data for this study, and the authors were asked to provide the raw data for review by the journal. On evaluation of the available data by the journal's research integrity team, several inconsistencies were found within the dataset, including non-random sequences which call into question the validity of the data. Subsequently, the authors carried out a full review and reanalysis of the data and discovered a considerable number of transcription errors, indicating significant discrepancies from the conclusions reported in the study. As such, the data for this study cannot be considered reliable and the journal is issuing this retraction.
