Figures

Fig. 1.
Fig. 1.
Univariate linear regression showing significant correlation between pressure controlled mechanical power (MP) and volume controlled MP (VC-MP) in adaptive pressure ventilation (panels A and B) and adaptive support ventilation (panels C and D) and waveform-MP with R2 of 0.93, 0.95, 0.81, and 0.94, respectively (P values were all < .001). The line of identity demonstrated consistently lower VC-MP measure than waveform-MP. MP = mechanical power; PC-MP = pressure controlled mechanical power; VC-MP = volume controlled mechanical power.
Fig. 2.
Fig. 2.
In Wilcoxon signed-rank test, there was no difference between waveform-mechanical power (MP) and pressure controlled MP values (adaptive pressure ventilation [APV] panels A and B: 28.2 [24.7–33.4] J/min, P = .94; and adaptive support ventilation [ASV] panels C and D: 28.5 [21.5–37.7] J/min, P = .10). A significant difference was detected between waveform-MP and volume controlled MP (APV: 22.3 [19.2–29.8] J/min, P < .001; and ASV: 21.8 [18.9–31.8] J/min, P < .001]. MP = mechanical power; PC-MP = pressure controlled mechanical power; VC-MP = volume controlled mechanical power.
