After infection with VV, CD8+ T cells in the skin recoginze viral antigens and subsequently seed skin TRM and LN TRM. During the effector phase, lymphatic-dependent egress of LN TRM is essnetial for LN TRM seeding. Moreover, LN TRM has a protective role upon rechallenge. Created with BioRender.
