Five common benzoyl peroxide (BPO) drug products incubated at (A) 37°C for 28 d and at (B) 50°C for 21 d and periodically sampled for benzene analysis. Results are displayed in parts per million. Depending on the pattern of benzene formation, either an exponential (Expon) or linear fit was applied.
Figure 2 is a line graph, plotting Benzene, 1-minute average (parts per billion), ranging from 0 to 3,000 in increments of 500 (y-axis) across time incubated at 70 degrees Celsius, ranging from 0 to 18 (hours) in increments of 2 (x-axis) for Equate Beauty and Proactive benzoyl peroxide drug products.

Both products were incubated without modification from primary packaging; notably caps were not opened.
