The therapeutic decisions for TAVR vs. SAVR in the treatment of AS are affected by multiple issues including questions of durability, recovery time, rates of rehospitalization, anatomical features, coronary re-access, creating patient prosthesis mismatch, and the feasibility of subsequent valve-in-valve procedures. These issues are dynamic, depending on the age of the patient considering therapy.
