Treatment endpoints of participants with diffuse alveolar hemorrhage in anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibody–associated vasculitis with immunosuppression plus combinations of plasmapheresis (i.e., plasma exchange [PLEX]) versus no plasmapheresis (no PLEX) and standard versus reduced-dose steroids (i.e., glucocorticoids [GCs]). The endpoints focused on comparative mortality, ventilator-free days, and rates of serious infection at 1 year between the treatment groups. Participants were randomized to undergo PLEX plus standard GCs, PLEX plus reduced GCs, no PLEX plus standard GCs, and no PLEX plus reduced GCs. Created using BioRender.com.
