Balance of DNA and protein syntheses, processes of stabilization and repair of breaks in DNA strands, and cell viability
Abstract
The dependence of the stabilization and repair of breaks in the DNA strands on the balance of the syntheses of DNA and protein and the relationship of these processes to the viability of E. coli cells were experimentally substantiated. It was established that equilibrium of the rates of DNA and protein syntheses is a necessary condition for the functioning of processes of DNA repair. "Imbalanced" breaks in the DNA strands in vivo are a consequence of a sharp decrease in the effectiveness of DNA repair processes.
