Figure 1
Workflow and timeline of the study. After a period of at least seven days without on-call or nightshift work experiment 1 (completing the exercise pre-intervention in a rested state) was performed. The exercises were repeated after an on-call night with sleep deprivation of no more than 3.5 hours of sleep the morning after (experiment 2).

Figure 2
Boxplots for A number of drops in the exercise Ring Tower, B number of drops in the exercise Suture Sponge, C the score for the exercise Vitruvian Operation and D point value for the exercise Stacking Challenge pre and post sleep deprivation. The point value of Stacking Challenge D is significantly decreased after sleep deprivation (P=0.041), (*P<0.05).

Results of the different sleep questionnaires, including Pittsburgh Sleep Quuality Index (PSQI), in which a score of 0-5 points indicate no problems, and more than 11 severe problems sleeping. The D-MEQ (Morning-Evening questionnaire), which measures chronotype of participants, characterized most participants as neutral types B. The Epworth Sleepiness Scale (ESS), which assesses daytime sleepiness, showed moderate problems in most participants C.
