Clinical staging based on Standards for Oncology Registry Entry criteria is defined as staging obtained before initiation of definitive treatment or within 4 months after the date of diagnosis, whichever is shorter, as long as the cancer has not clearly progressed during that time. Pathologic staging is defined as staging obtained through completion of definitive surgery.
