Nasal system for application of CPAP in treatment of newborn infants with moderate respiratory insufficiency
Abstract
The authors describe their own modified apparatus for nasal application of CPAP to newborns. Plastic cannulas are used. Their lengths and diameters depending on the sizes of nasal passages of the infants concerned. The whole system is based on a distributor-holder to direct gas flows, as required. - The system so far has been used on 30 newborns of all gestation ages with moderate respiratory insufficiency.
