Culture plates of Legionella pneumophila from the patient’s respiratory aspirate. Culture plates show no growth on blood agar plate (BAP) or colistin nalidixic acid (CNA) but robust growth on BCYE plates ± PAC or PAV. Regarding the single colony on the BAP plate, it is a contaminant that may have appeared from condensation on the lids while technologists were opening these plates daily over 7 days. The colony is not on a streak line.
