Health workers' strikes: a further rejoinder

Health workers' strikes: a further rejoinder

S M Glick. J Med Ethics. 1986 Mar.

Abstract

KIE: Robert Brecher's article on strikes by health workers appeared in the June 1985 Journal of Medical Ethics with a commentary by Hugh Cannell. Glick's rejoinder in the December 1985 issue of JME has been answered by Brecher in this March 1986 issue (p. 40-42). In response to Brecher's strong reaction to his rejoinder, Glick highlights the major points of his December 1985 essay and reaffirms his conviction that physicians' strikes are unethical, as are all strikes that endanger human lives. He declines to address the "plethora of derogatory remarks" in Brecher's reply, or to discuss philosophical differences between himself and Brecher that are "too broad" to be covered in a short reply.
