Effects of Massachusetts raising its legal drinking age from 18 to 20 on deaths from teenage homicide, suicide, and nontraffic accidents
Abstract
In this study, contrary to expectations, no significant decline in violent deaths (excluding traffic accidents) was found among Massachusetts 15 to 19 year olds after the state raised its drinking age from 18 to 20. The authors also review the epidemiology of alcohol-related injuries.
