TMX4 is a transmembrane thiol isomerase that contains a CPSC active site motif within a single thioredoxin domain. It enters the ER by virtue of its signal sequence and contains a RQR retention sequence to maintain it there. TMX4 undergoes both N-glycosylation of its extracellular domain and phosphorylation of its cytoplasmic domain.
