Hand-held flashlight held 1cm away from the cave wall at the junction of the quartz with non-crystal rock. Although initially, the cave wall seemed to be composed of consistent material, this experiment demonstrates the junction of the non-crystal rock formations (smaller, semi-circular bright white light on the right) with the adjacent quartz crystal (larger, penetrating amber light on the left).

Laser applied to cave wall. Pointing a laser to the pitch-black cave wall is a common method to help spelunkers focus their attention to a particular point. When the cave wall being targeted is primarily composed of calcium carbonate, immense reflections upon reflections creates a star-like pattern throughout the entire vast underground cathedral thus illustrating the complex crystalloid, multi-angled mirror-like properties.
