Norovirus is one of the most infectious pathogens of all. Norovirus often poses a major logistical challenge for medical practices and hospitals in terms of isolation, visiting restrictions, material requirements, cleaning services, time off for sick staff etc. Serious complications are rare, but those affected by Norovirus can feel surprisingly ill. Dehydration and its consequences can occur, especially in the very old and very young.

Einleitung: Das Norovirus ist einer der ansteckendsten Erreger überhaupt. «Noro» stellt oft eine grosse logistische Herausforderung für Praxis und Spitalbetrieb dar, punkto Isolation, Besuchseinschränkungen, Materialaufwand, Reinigungsdienst, Freistellung kranker Mitarbeiter usw. Schwere Komplikationen sind selten, aber Betroffene können sich erstaunlich schwer krank fühlen. Vor allem bei den ganz Alten und ganz Jungen kann es zu Dehydratation und deren Folgen kommen. Introduction: Le norovirus est l'un des agents pathogènes les plus contagieux. Le norovirus représente souvent un grand défi logistique pour le cabinet médical et l'hôpital en termes d'isolement, de restriction des visites, de dépenses de matériel, de service de nettoyage, d'absence de collaborateurs malades, etc. Les complications graves sont rares, mais les personnes concernées peuvent se sentir étonnamment gravement malades. La déshydratation et ses conséquences peuvent survenir, en particulier chez les personnes très âgées et les très jeunes.
