The Expression of Concern has been agreed due to concerns raised regarding the surgical and research practices of one of the coauthors, Anthony Dixon, and two of Dr. Dixon's cited articles (Owais et al., 2014 [https://doi.org/10.1111/codi.12763]; Randall et al. 2014 [https://doi.org/10.1111/codi.12741]) that are under investigation by the publisher. The investigation into these concerns is ongoing. Therefore, the journal has decided to issue an Expression of Concern to inform and alert the readers.
