Glomeruloid Hemangioma
Excerpt
Glomeruloid hemangiomas are rare benign vascular lesions. These tumors were first described by Chan et al in the 1990s. Glomeruloid hemangiomas are strongly associated with systemic diseases, most commonly polyneuropathy, organomegaly, endocrinopathy, monoclonal gammopathy, and skin changes (POEMS) syndrome and less commonly multicentric Castleman disease (MCD). Glomeruloid hemangiomas may also exist in the absence of an associated systemic disease. POEMS syndrome, also known as Crow-Fukase syndrome, Takatsuki syndrome, and polyneuropathy-endocrinopathy-plasma cell dyscrasia syndrome, was first described by Crow in 1956.
