Efficiency of Pulsed Field Ablation for Atrial Fibrillation
Abstract
The viability of pulsed field ablation (PFA) for the treatment of atrial fibrillation has been demonstrated in several trials. The good safety profile paired with procedural streamlining has contributed to the overall efficiency of this energy source. In terms of lesion durabilitiy and reduced arrhythmia burden, PFA appears largely comparable to etablished thermal ablation. There is however, a need for larger, systematic remapping trials with longer follow-up duration. Furthermore, the release of optimized catheters and wave-forms requires further attention in terms of general performance in future.
