Suicidal thoughts and behaviors represent a transdiagnostic dimension independent of traditional psychiatric diagnoses. This specificity is supported by genetic studies, biomarkers, and preclinical research on endophenotypes associated with suicidal behaviors, such as impulsivity, anhedonia, and hopelessness. Clear mechanisms involving inflammation, the stress response, the serotonergic system, and neuroplasticity are emerging. Specific treatments, such as lithium and ketamine, target these mechanisms. The French Minds cohort of the PEPR PROPSY will identify the biological signatures and trajectories of this dimension using comprehensive multimodal approaches.

Title: Idées et conduites suicidaires - Une dimension transdiagnostique pour une psychiatrie de précision.

Abstract: Les pensées et conduites suicidaires forment une dimension transdiagnostique indépendante des diagnostics psychiatriques traditionnels. Cette spécificité est fondée sur des études génétiques, sur l’existence de biomarqueurs et sur les résultats de travaux précliniques sur des endophénotypes liés aux conduites suicidaires, tels que l’impulsivité, l’anhédonie et le désespoir. Elle révèle des mécanismes distincts impliquant l’inflammation, la réponse au stress, le système sérotoninergique et la neuroplasticité. Des traitements spécifiques, comme le lithium ou la kétamine, ciblent ces mécanismes. La cohorte French Minds du PEPR PROPSY identifiera les signatures biologiques et les trajectoires de cette dimension via des approches multimodales.
