[Clinical rehabilitation of the stroke patient]
Abstract
Stroke patients should be rehabilitated in a hospital, which is suitably equipped in terms of staff, rooms and technical appliances. The rehabilitation of the stroke-patient is a 24-hour programme, which requires that all members of staff work in accordance with the same principles. Teamwork, regular staff meetings and an adequate supply of technical aids are important characteristics of our approach, as well as preparations for discharging the patient and his aftercare. The Bobath Concept has proved to be a very good model for the rehabilitation of stroke patients. This will be discussed later in more detail.
