Abstract

The breast can develop various types of tumors, among which the phyllodes tumor is notably rare, complex, and unpredictable in its progression. A 44-year-old primigravida was admitted to the gynecology emergency department at Angré University Hospital with severe mastodynia in the right breast. Examination revealed a large, irregular, and hardened tumor in the right breast, with the areola exhibiting an ulcerative and necrotic appearance. Breast magnetic resonance imaging revealed a sizable necrotic mass with cutaneous and mammary gland infiltration, categorized as BI-RADS 6. A mastectomy was performed, and histological analysis of the surgical specimen identified the tumor as a grade 2 malignant phyllodes tumor. The patient underwent clinical and radiological follow-up for 6 months with no signs of recurrence or extension.
