Abstract

S. Dash, R. Prabhu, S. Hazari, F. Bastian, R. Garry, W. Zou, S. Haque, V. Joshi, F.G. Regenstein, and S.N. Thung, "Interferons α, β, γ Each Inhibit Hepatitis C Virus Replication at the Level of Internal Ribosome Entry Site-Mediated Translation," Liver International 25, no. 3 (2005): 580-594, https://doi.org/10.1111/j.1478-3231.2005.01082.x. The above article, published online on 20 May 2005, in Wiley Online Library (wileyonlinelibrary.com), [and its correction (https://doi.org/10.1111/liv.70031)] has been retracted by agreement between the journal Editor-in-Chief, Luca Valenti; and John Wiley & Sons Ltd. Following publication, concerns were raised by third parties regarding Figures 6, 8, and 9. Duplicated images were confirmed by the publisher to exist in multiple panels of Figures 6 and 8. Portions of several panels in Figure 9 were duplicated from a previous publication by the authors [Prabhu et al. (2004); https://doi.org/10.1016/j.yexmp.2004.01.004]. The authors were unable to provide a satisfactory explanation and could not provide the original data from the figures. The retraction has been agreed because of evidence that the images were duplicated, affecting the interpretation of the data and results presented.
