Abstract
We performed percutaneous mitral commissurotomy on 5 patients with long-standing symptoms (16.6 ± 3.9 years) of rheumatic mitral stenosis with high Wilkins scores (9.4 ± 0.9) by using a novel wire-assisted method with high procedural feasibility, satisfactory results, and zero complications.
Keywords: rheumatic mitral stenosis; wire-assisted percutaneous mitral commissurotomy.
