Facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy manifestations in the hand: A case report
Abstract
We present the case of a male in his 20s with undiagnosed fascioscapularhumeral musculodystrophy presenting with apparent isolated weakness in the ring and small finger. Hand manifestations of fascioscapularhumeral musculodystrophy are uncommon. Hand specialists may be puzzled by the presentation of this condition. This case highlights the clinical history, exam findings, electrodiagnostic findings, and greater than one-year outcome following surgery to restore hand function.
