Chevron-Type Osteotomies to Correct Hallux Valgus
Abstract
Percutaneous technics became more and more popular in the last decade. First published in 2007, the chevron osteotomy is offering the possibility to correct hallux valgus deformity with a burr. With a fixation that evolved, the correction of severe deformity became possible. It is the mini-invasive chevron Akin. Literature reveals different name depending on the company: percutaneous, extra-articular reverse-L chevron; percutaneous, intra-articular, chevron osteotomy; or percutaneous chevron and Akin osteotomy.
