Scarf Osteotomy Design What Can We Do Percutaneously?
Abstract
A minimally invasive scarf procedure combines the advantages of the open scarf technique with the advantages of a minimally invasive procedure. This report describes 2 techniques for performing the minimally invasive scarf osteotomy: one technique utilizing internal fixation with headless compression screws and another technique without screws. The difference lies in the diaphyseal cut and one is performed with a single incision. Both are effective techniques for treating all types of reducible hallux valgus.
