Malignant Pericardial Disease
Abstract
Pericardial involvement in cancer can present with various clinical manifestations, including constrictive pericarditis, pericardial tamponade, or chronic pericardial effusions. Since the incidence of malignant pericardial illness is more widespread than is generally understood, a strong index of suspicion is required to identify its many characteristics. Therefore, in this article, we review the etiology, mechanism, clinical presentation, and their management.
Keywords: constrictive pericarditis; malignant pericardial disease; pericardial effusion.
