Abstract

Spin splitting, arising from spin-orbit interaction of light, has garnered increasing attention due to its potential applications in polarization detection, optical metrology, optical sensing, and optical computing. Here, we demonstrate a direction independent flipped spin splitting, which is realized through orthogonal linearly polarized incidences on conjugate particles. Specifically, the flipped spin splitting is achieved by constructing opposite spin dipoles, leveraging the electric field coupling of the conjugate particle. By employing dipole models, we elucidate the relationship between the polarization state of the scattered far field and the incident polarization state. Furthermore, we demonstrate that consistent spin splitting can be achieved with a constant incident electric field polarization, regardless of variations in the incident wave vector direction. Our findings provide promising opportunities for manipulating spin states in the scattered far field and broadening the applications of conjugate particles.
