Abstract

N-Aroyloxyquinuclidinium tetrafluoroborates allow for efficient Balz-Schiemann-type oxidative C-H fluorination of donors of 1°, 2° and 3° benzylic C-H bonds used as limiting reagents under photocatalytic conditions; cyclohexane was also shown to react, albeit less efficiently.
