Schematic representation of the cellular uptake and antiviral activity of Au_NP-Cas13d These Au_NP-Cas13d enter cells via endocytosis or passive diffusion, enabling early antiviral action. For SARS-CoV-2, which replicates in endosomal vesicles, the antiviral effect was pronounced. In contrast, for ZIKV, which replicates in ER-Golgi compartments, the effect was reduced.
