Detection, investigation and control measures around the first case of autochthonous chikungunya in the greater Paris area, France
Abstract
In July 2024, a 47-year-old male presented with a laboratory-confirmed chikungunya infection in Paris, Île-de-France. Although he had travelled to Côte d'Ivoire for 2 days, symptoms appeared 27 days after his return. This autochthonous case represents the first and northernmost reported autochthonous case of chikungunya in France since 2017.
