[The challenge of an appropriate and rigorous teaching of focused ultrasonography]

Abstract

Although integrating point-of-care ultrasound into modern clinical practice is essential, teaching it is challenging. This article proposes a structured pedagogical approach that focuses on the principle of "less is more", whereby targeted and relevant information is prioritized for better assimilation. Teaching should be personalized according to the learner's specialty (emergency medicine, internal medicine, etc.) and progress through levels (initial, basic, advanced). A structured and individualized pedagogy is crucial for effectively mastering ultrasound, leading to improved patient care. The final assessment of skills should take place at the patient's bedside.
