Pediatric Injuries from Consumer Products and Strategies for Prevention
Abstract
The consumer products used daily can present dangers, especially to children. Consumer products are associated with an annual 34.4 million injuries, 48,000 fatalities, and estimated $1 trillion in medical costs. Pediatric clinicians can raise awareness of our homes' hidden hazards by teaching new parents about common childhood hazard patterns. Everyone should subscribe to government recall alerts from www.cpsc.gov.
