A qPCR assay for the detection and quantification of Pseudomonas syringae pv. syringae in susceptible tissues of sweet cherry
Abstract
This study validated a qPCR assay for quantifying Pseudomonas syringae pv. syringae across three growth stages, using syrB gene as target and PVPP modification in extraction protocol, demonstrating high sensitivity and accuracy compared to the traditional drop plate method, which often overestimates bacterial loads. Results support improved disease management strategies.
