Trout hepatic enzyme activation of aflatoxin B1 in a mutagen assay system and the inhibitory effect of PCBs1
Abstract
In summary, it was demonstrated that the trout PMF may be successfully employed in the Ames mutagen assay method by utilization of proper salts solution and a metabolic preincubation period at 25 degrees C. It has also been observed that, unlike the rat, pretreatment of rainbow trout with various PCBs decrease the mutagen assay response to AFB.
