Light-Induced Copper-Catalyzed Arylamination of 1,3-Butadiene
Abstract
Here we report a visible-light-driven copper-catalyzed arylamination of 1,3-butadiene using aryl iodides and amines. This method provides allylic amines in good yields with good chemo- and regioselectivity, as well as broad functional group tolerance. Mechanistic investigations indicate that the reaction proceeds via a copper-based catalytic cycle, accompanied by a radical chain pathway that contributes to the formation of the allylic amine products as a parallel process.
