An immunofluorescence procedure for the detection of intracellular immunoglobulins

An immunofluorescence procedure for the detection of intracellular immunoglobulins

W Hijmans et al. Clin Exp Immunol. 1969 Apr.

Abstract

This paper gives the technical details of an immunofluorescence procedure that was specially developed for the study of intracellular immunoglobulins but also proved useful for other purposes.

After suspending and washing of the cells, slides are prepared with a sedimentation apparatus. The result is a preparation with a minimal background and a large number of cells in a limited area. These preparations have been found to be eminently suitable for qualitative and quantitative studies.

The description of the method also deals with the testing of specificity of the conjugates and photomicrography.
