Caution in the interpretation of plant ribosome studies

Abstract

Published methods of ribosome isolation from plant tissues result in a partial and selective recovery of the total ribosome population. The enrichment of polyribosomes obtained may give a false impression of the change in translational capacity of the tissue under study.
