Attitudes of college students toward selected issues in human sexualtiy
Abstract
PIP: 221 upperclassmen at the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana were polled about their attitudes on selected current sexual topics. Total group responses indicated very liberal views toward birth control, sex education and sexual standards. Although still liberal, the most conservative responses were toward college marriages and homosexuality. Females were slightly more liberal about sex education, divorce, and homosexuality; males were more liberal about sexual standards. Attitudes were quite similar between males and females. Neither group supported the most liberal statements in the poll. Results of the study indicate a slow change in behavior, attitudes, and knowledge about sex, not a "sexual revolution."
