The orientation of the adjuvant activities of Salmonella typhosa lipopolysaccharide and lentinan
Abstract
By using T cell-deprived mice and appropriate controls it has been shown that the adjuvant activity of LPS on the immune response to different doses of SRBC, tends to be oriented more towards B cells than towards T cells. In contrast, lentinan seems to mediate its adjuvant activity largely through a stimulatory effect on helper T cells.
