The role of the T cell in experimental pyelonephritis

The role of the T cell in experimental pyelonephritis

G A Coles et al. Clin Exp Immunol. 1974 Apr.

Abstract

The role of the thymus-dependent (T) cell in experimental pyelonephritis has been studied using neonatally thymectomized or ALG-treated rats. The number of kidney scars and the macroscopic or microscopic appearance of the lesions were unaffected by the presence or absence of T cells. Responses to both the O and K antigens of Escherichia coli appear to be T cell-independent in the rat.
