[Affinity of certain steroids for testosterone-estradiol-binding globulin. 1. Estrogens]
Abstract
PIP: The affinity of 2C(19)-steroids, 11C(18)-steroids, 5-11-N-C(17)-steroids and 2C(21)-steroids to testosterone-estradiol-binding globulin (TSEG) of the retroplacental human plasma was studied. It was found that the required condition for the active binding of synthetic steroids of the C(18) series is the presence of the 17-hydroxyl group and of the oxygen function of the 3rd position of the A-ring. The greatest affinity to TSEG was shown by testosterone, estradiol, and its methylester.
