Stimulant drugs and activity level in hyperactive children
Abstract
This study of 14 hyperactive boys reports that activity and attention span appear to be affected by methylphenidate even in highly stimulating, informal settings. Comparison of the hyperactive boys with a group of 14 normal controls suggests that this drug induced reduction of activity and inattentiveness is not a "normalizing" effect. Implications of the findings are discussed.
