[Cervix mucus and its significance for andrology. II]
Abstract
PIP: A brief sketch is drawn of the anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, and pathology of the cervical mucus and its significance in andrology. The manifold interaction of cervical mucus and sperms, especially regarding the penetration of the spermatozoa, is very important to gynecologists and andrologists. Knowledge about cervical mucus is an important factor in treatment of sterility as well as the control of fertility. Examples are given of hormonal changes in cervical biochemistry. Diagnostic tests relating to sterility consultation are discussed and calculation of date of ovulation described.
