Abstract

Ninety-five cases in which paracervical block was administered in labour are reported. These permitted comparison of the duration of analgesia provided by 1% lidocaine and 0.25% bupivicaine, with and without adrenalin.The dangers of paracervical block are reviewed and its role in modern obstetrics is discussed.
