Intraventricular pressure and CSF dynamics in chronic adult hydrocephalus
Abstract
The authors present their experience with continuous intraventricular pressure measurements and the constant infusion test in 50 adult patients suffering from chronic communicating hydrocephalus. A good correlation has been found in 27 cases between the response to CSF shunting and the actual state of the CSF hydrodynamics. The importance of such investigations in selecting adult hydrocephalic patients for shunt therapy is emphasized.
