Experimental respiratory syncytial virus infection in feeder-age lambs
Abstract
Signs of disease, lesions, and serologic response were seen in six 6-month-old-lambs experimentally inoculated with respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). A transient febrile response, mild hyperpnea, and listlessness were seen. Multifocal areas of interstitial pneumonia and bronchiolitis were seen in lambs necropsied during the period of clinical response. A serologic response to RSV was seen in all lambs, and RSV was recovered from five lambs.
