Induction by isoniazid and hydrallazine of antinuclear factors in mice
Abstract
The long-term oral administration of isoniazid and hydrallazine to mice resulted in a significant increase in the incidence of antinuclear factors (ANF) in C57B1/6 for both drugs and BALB/c for hydrallazine. ANF disappeared in some mice 2 months after the drugs were discontinued. These findings and the differences observed according to strain, sex and age are discussed in relation to human SLE-like syndromes which may possibly be induced or triggered by drugs.
