Chlorhexidine as an effective agent against Chlamydia trachomatis in vitro and in vivo
Abstract
In a small field trial, chlorhexidine (50 micrograms/ml) was as effective against clinical trachoma as topical tetracyclines or oral co-trimoxazole; in vitro, 2.5 micrograms/ml was chlamydicidal.
